About CodeBan

Developers hear about a new AI coding tool almost every week, and the announcements tend to sound alike. CodeBan exists to make the first step simpler: see which tools do a given job, read one plain line about each, and go to the official site to check what matters for your code, your team and your rules.

We keep it plain on purpose. There are no star ratings or rankings, because we would have to make them up, and no prices, because they change too often. Paid placements are labeled Sponsored and never change what we write. If a listing is wrong or a tool has changed, we want to hear about it.

CodeBan is published by Zwings LLC. We add tools by hand, write every description ourselves, and remove or hold listings when a product changes hands, changes name or shuts down.

If you make one of these tools, you can submit it or claim its listing for free.

CodeBan lists AI tools for software development by the job they do: editing, completion, agents, review, testing, docs, security and local models. Each listing says what the tool does and which basic facts we could confirm, such as a free plan, an open-source license, self-hosting or support for VS Code and JetBrains IDEs. There are no star ratings, scores or rankings.

This part of the market changes month to month. Products get renamed, bought or shut down, so we hold back any tool we could not confirm and re-check listings regularly. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
