Security scanning

About Snyk

Security platform that scans code, open-source dependencies, containers and infrastructure code, with AI-suggested fixes.

Snyk finds security problems in several places at once: your own source code, the open-source packages you depend on, container images and infrastructure-as-code files. It plugs into IDEs, Git platforms and CI pipelines, so issues show up while code is written and again before it merges.

Its code scanning uses a mix of AI and rule-based analysis, and it can propose fixes for some findings that a developer reviews and applies. For dependencies it suggests upgrade paths that remove known vulnerabilities, and it can open pull requests with those upgrades.

Expect to spend time on triage at first. Decide which severity levels block a build, and which projects and repositories it should watch. Its free plan covers small teams and open-source projects, with limits on the number of tests per month.
